Spiritual Connections and Soul Mates

Finding True Love and Keeping It

One of the most timeless and romantic ideas that has continued over the ages is that every person has a partner, a soulmate, another half or some type of connection to person that they are destine to share their life with.

While this connection might include anything from an astrological soul mate to cybersoulmate, many people all around the world believe in one version or another of this kind of connection. The journey to find your perfect match could begin at any time, in any place, may perhaps even be predestined to take place regardless of your actions.

This idea often appeals to so many mainly due to its' assurance that everybody has someone that they are meant to be with in their life. While some believe that even those who do posses another half are destined to be together, this does not necessarily mean that they will find each other in this lifetime. This idea also appeals to many individuals because it indicates that even if their matchmaking has not worked out by the end of their time here, they will meet up with that destined love in another place.

Even in our modern society we can see signs that this idea is continued, sometimes in the most unexpected places. Online, any number of religious chat rooms, designed for religious singles to meet other religious singles can be found. Some of the best and most successful dating sites provide a great deal of spiritual advice as well as romantic. Astrological websites often include a soul mate test or calculator of some kind. Even in texting back and forth on cell phones one can find any number of romantic, meant-to-be messages.

Whether or not you too believe in the idea that you are meant to be with one person, or that another half awaits you somewhere in the universe, it is certainly easy to understand the appeal of such thinking.

The downside of such assumptions often manifests when relationships do not take on the dreamy quality of perfection that someone who believes in fate might assume that they should. Would a relationship written in the stars or destined by some higher power feel…perfect?

One might argue that because we are only human perfection is impossible, especially in a relationship where two minds may clash from time to time. The expectation of such perfection may in fact lead a person toward an impossible goal that might only cause them great misery throughout the course of their search and their life.

On the other hand this instinct to seek out another half, a completion to the loneliness felt by most, could allow others never to settle for anything short of true love. The idea might also require one to take the union of two souls much more seriously and by doing so help them avoid stepping into serious relationships casually and without thought for the future.

Many religions seem to encourage the basic idea of destined love because it often reinforces the concept of an all-knowing deity that has a plan for us all, love being part of that very structure. This may be further reinforced by parents and family valuing the same kind of faith.

With so many possible ideas and so many opinions floating around the globe it can be nearly impossible to distinguish one's own belief system when it comes to destined love. If one were sit down and trace the collective ideas on the subject throughout the thousands of years of recorded history, no doubt one could easily spend a lifetime alone, just trying to compare the information.

How then can anyone be expected to make a decision about such ideas? In the end only you can truly decide what you believe lies in store for your romantic future. Though your spiritual beliefs may lend a helping hand, not all will have absolute guidance regarding this question.

It is probable that even those destined to be together will have their ups and downs and may even question whether or not they are right for one another at times. To let such questions ruin your chance at happiness would on likelihood be a great mistake.

Whether destiny, or chance, fate or even just coincidence, many people find real love each and every day. Possibly the most important thing to remember when it comes to finding true love is that it takes work to keep it going.

One of the most popular ideas regarding soul mates blends both faith and science, surmising that while destiny may have its' place in romance, perhaps two people aren't exactly perfect for one another until they make an effort in their relationship to be so. What you choose to believe and how you choose to seek the love of your life may greatly impact how you view love in general. Keeping many of these ideas in mind, it is of even greater importance to have patience during those trying moments of your love life and to make the most of the glorious ones.
