Those who hope to find love have often pictured the setting and circumstance in which they will meet the person of their dreams, for many though, love can come unexpectedly and in forms they might never have imagined.
Understanding that if and when you find your soul mate it might happen at a most unexpected time may help you to stay open to the idea, even under special circumstances. This can be difficult for some individuals as they do not like being taken by surprise and feel that an impulse feeling isn't worth paying attention to: remember: it might be worth it to pay attention after all.

- When in a work mode you may run into someone who you hit it off with and while sharing work time and romance time isn't often recommended, it can be difficult to meet new people and you may not want to ignore anyone that truly makes an impression.
- While running errands most people are caught up in what they are trying to accomplish and may not expect to meet the love of their life. When you feel some distinct signs off attraction, however, you may want to go ahead and take the risk of giving out that phone/email and allowing yourself to take a chance. It is important to protect yourself and not give out information that is too personal, but when the spark are flying you might at least want to give them the name of your free email account so that you have some way of keeping in touch.
- Any place where you feel like you're being taken off guard, where you might never have expected it, might just be the very place you find romance. Allowing a busy day or the lack of control in the situation to completely destroy your chances of seeing that person again, just because it might seem a little strange, may just be an opportunity lost.

- For those that fall in love easily any moment might seem like one where they just met the person of their dreams and it's important to use some common sense before allowing your emotions to run wild. That said, if you should happen to meet the romantic man or woman who seem unlike any other, but at the completely wrong time in your life, you may not want to let that chance slip away.
In many cases people choose not to form attachments when they are trying to focus on other opportunities, the most common one naturally being a career. While it certainly admirable to focus on the things that are important to you, it is also a good idea to keep an open mind if you do hope to have to have that special someone to kiss later on in life. Keep in mind that while you do need to what feels right for you at the time, if that nagging feeling that you're missing out on something continues to pester you, this may be an opportunity worth interfering with your plans for.
- The relationship you have with a person who you feel you've begun to fall for may also be a hindrance in some situations. The spouse of a close friend for example isn't an ideal person to fall for and while this may be one of the most difficult positions to be in when it comes to romance you would do well to consider at least why you feel the way you do about an unavailable person.
Even if you are unable to confess your feelings, you might do well to take note of the traits that person possesses which you so admire and look for them in others.
Another common block many people is experience is the mingling of romance and friendship. Should you begin to feel that you like your friend in a way that goes far beyond your normal expectations this may very be the start of something wonderful…or disastrous. Most people choose not to pursue such feelings because they fear the end of the friendship altogether. In some cases though, if those feelings are returned two people may begin a lifelong romance. A difficult situation indeed, but one well worth looking at rather than try to run from without any thought.

- While some people cruise the club scene others have chosen the newer, but extremely effective method of online dating and matchmaking. To some this may seem a strange way to meet, but to many happy couples it was only through this method that they might have found one another. If you're searching for the right person it may be time to let the age of communication aid you in your search for love.
- Getting set up through friends or family may seem a little awkward at first, but let's face it: these people know you. If you have already been down this road with a particular loved one and know that their tastes are way off of your radar then this might not be the right road for you. If, however, you trust that someone who cares about you might just have a chance at picking the right person for you, it may be wise to give it a chance. In most cases you may suffer one bad date. In a best case scenario, you may just meet the person of your dreams.
There are many places and situations in life where romance seems to be the last possible character on the scene and yet it finds a place. If you should happen to come across such a scenario, give yourself at least the opportunity to recognize it for what it truly is before dismissing what might just be the best first date of your life. As always, be careful, but don't let your busy life or focused mind sweep away a possible chance at happiness should it happen to come along.
